Saint Lucia on Saturday recorded two new COVID-19 related deaths and three new cases of the virus.

The country’s Ministry of Health in a statement said the two deaths bring the total of those who have succumbed to 67.

Death #66 is a 74 year old male from the Vieux-Fort district with an underlying medical illness. Death #67 is a 94 year old female from the Soufriere district with underlying medical illnesses,” the statement disclosed.

In addition, it said the Ezra Long Laboratory confirmed 3 new cases of COVID-19 from a batch of 105 samples.

Active cases of COVID-19 in St. Lucia stand at 91.

So far, the total number of cases diagnosed in the country is 4401.

As of April 16th, 2021 a total of 23,664 individuals in St. Lucia have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 37 individuals have received the second dose.
