The Board of Directors of Miami Carnival has stated the passing of Antiguan singer, songwriter, entertainer and entrepreneur, Ricardo Drue has devastated their entire community.
They said that Ricardo graced their stage multiple times throughout the last decade, leaving an indelible mark with his infectious energy and voice.
Chair of Miami Broward One Carnival, Joan Hinkson-Justin said Ricardo held a special place within the Miami Carnival family and his absence will be keenly felt across the entire Carnival community.
We offer our sincere condolences to Ricardo’s family and friends and our many friends in Antigua and Barbuda as they navigate through this challenging moment. Rest in peace, Ricardo,” she said in a statement.
Ricardo Drue died on Tuesday afternoon.
He was rushed to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre after he was found unresponsive.
He died while receiving treatment.
