Another life has been lost to COVID-19 in Barbados.

A 50-year-old St. Lucian woman, who resided in Barbados, died on Sunday, September 19, at the Harrison’s Point Isolation Facility. She spent eight days in primary isolation.

She had co-morbidities and was unvaccinated.

The death toll from the virus in Barbados now stands at 59.

The country’s Minister of Health and Wellness Jeffrey Bostic has extended condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory has identified 104 new cases of COVID-19. The facility conducted 1,430 tests on Sunday, September 19th.

Of these new cases, 23 people are under 18 years, and the remaining 81 are 18 and older. There are now 866 patients in isolation.

Barbados has recorded 6 631 cases of COVID-19 (3 299 males and 3 332 females) since March 2020.
