Six elderly men with comorbidities are among 11 people who died from COVID-19 in Trinidad and Tobago over the past 24 hours, bringing the country’s death toll up to 1,566. 

According to T&T’s health ministrys’ release, there were also two elderly females, two middle-aged females and one middle-aged male with comorbidities to succumb to the disease. 

The ministry also confirmed 152 additional cases of COVID-19 from samples collected between October 8 and 11 bringing the total number of infected people in T&T to 52,999.

Despite the new cases, those remaining active decreased slightly to 4,230 after 212 were deemed to have recovered.

T&T’s health ministry released 186 people from home self-isolation as recovered community cases while 26 people were discharged from public health facilities. 

Trinidad and Tobago also recorded a milestone as it crossed 600,000 who received a vaccine after 600,766 people received a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
