The SVGBF 3×3 invitational tournament bounced off as planned at the Montrose basketball court on Saturday 15th July, 2023. Seven teams were represented; they were the South Rivers, Mavrix 1, Mavrix 2, TMAC, Playaz Youth Academy, Bluechip and Heatseekers. The competition was played on a knockout basis.
The games were fast, intense and full of energy. Lots of skills were on display; they provided much excitement for the spectators. Unfortunately, the final game between South Rivers and TMAC was marred as a result of an incident between two players from the opposing teams and was therefore rendered incomplete.
The SVG Basketball Federation in their official release said that it regrets this incident and expressed its sincere apology to the public, supporters and sponsors. The SVGBF wishes to assure all concerned that it holds all clubs and their players to the highest standard.
The matter is being thoroughly investigated and the necessary action(s) will be taken in keeping with the Federation’s disciplinary guidelines. The SVGBF continues to encourage its members and players to compete in a fair play manner, respecting the rules and all involved in the game.
