According to their Ministry of Health, COVID-19 hospitalizations in Jamaica have now surpassed 500, with 540 patients being admitted.
This represents an increase of 54 patients when compared to the Ministry’s last report.
Also confirmed by Jamaica’s health ministry were 15 new COVID-19 deaths, the country’s overall COVID-19 death toll to 2551. The health ministry is also reporting that of the 2,015 COVID-19 deaths that occurred from March 1, 2021 to January 17, this year, 98.5 per cent or 1,984 people were unvaccinated.
1548 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Jamaica.
The newly confirmed COVID-19 cases brought the total number on record for the island to 114,986.
