Jamaica’s Ministry of Education will be launching a programme of Government sponsored extra lessons as soon as there is a resumption of normal operations in schools.

Presently, schools in Jamaica are shuttered because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Jamaica’s Minister of Education, Youth and Information, Fayval Williams, said extra lessons will be part of how schools make up for lost time.

Williams said the government sponsored extra lessons will provide more teaching and learning opportunities for children, especially those from economically disadvantaged homes.
