Digicel has shut down all of its stores in Antigua after several employees tested positive for COVID-19.

The telecommunications giant says its stores and shops will remain closed for the remainder of the week, to facilitate deep-cleaning and sanitization activities.

According to Digicel, from the onset of the pandemic, it has taken extensive steps to ensure the safety and wellbeing of its entire staff.

The Irish telecommunications giant also said it has supported the Antiguan government and communities with outreach and prevention activities throughout the pandemic.

Antigua and Barbuda currently has 222 active cases of COVID-19 in country, with a total of 1,598 laboratory confirmed cases of the virus recorded.
