On day two of the second Test in Melbourne, Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon were key in taking wickets for Australia.

Abdullah Shafique was removed for 62 by Cummins, followed by the dismissals of Babar Azam and Agha Salman.

Lyon’s spin saw off Imam-ul-Haq and Shan Masood. Pakistan finished the day at 194-6, with Mohammad Rizwan left unbeaten at 29.

Earlier in the day, Marnus Labuskagnehelped guide Australia to a total of 318 in their first innings with his 17th Test half-century.

Pakistan had a strong response at 124-1, but Australia captain Cummins was pleased to get a few big wickets in the end, putting them in a good position.

Pakistan needs a win in Melbourne to keep the three-match series alive after losing by 360 runs in Perth.
