An off duty in police officer in St. Lucia has allegedly handcuffed a man to a poll for more than 16 hours, according to a report from loop news.

The man, who allegedly stole some oranges, was left handcuffed to the pole from Friday evening until Saturday morning. The daughter of the individual, says she does not condone what her father did, but that does justify what was done to him.

According to the man’s daughter, in the hours her father was handcuffed to the pole by the roadside, rain fell, someone threw buckets of water on him and attacked him with a cutlass.

St. Lucian police say that an official investigation has been launched into the incident.
