A man has been killed in a shootout with members of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) on Friday.

According to a release from the police service officers proceeded to a residence with a search warrant for Firearms and Ammunition.

Upon arrival at the front of the premises, the officers observed a man armed with a rifle running on the roof of the house.

The man, subsequently identified as Dirrel Bullen, 25, shot at the officers, who returned fire.

He was wounded and officers immediately rendered aid and conveyed the man to T&T’s Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The officers found one rifle, three magazines and a quantity of ammunition and projectiles at the scene.
