This country’s Minister of Education, the Hon. Curtis King, during his appearance on the Issues at Hand program, when asked about the feedback of stakeholders in the sector since the resumption of face to face learning, stated that it has been so far been generally positive.

“Well generally, the feedback has been positive, and I will tell you, we have been visiting schools and plus, as I am saying, we are always in consultation with school leaders, clearly, and parents too, clearly most persons feel that it is right to have school” The education minister said.

Minister King said that it there will undoubtedly be concerns.

“Of course there are concerns, because let us face it, students as well as teachers will be exposed during this period, and as such there are going to be cases of COVID-19, and therefore the issue is one of management more than anything else, and that is why we are insisting that those persons using the respective facilities, whether it be teachers, whether it be other workers, everyone, students—follow the protocols as established by the Ministry of Health”. He said.

Minister King said that adherence to these protocols as well as vaccination are pivotal to the operation of schools during this time of COVID-19.
