According to volcanologist Dr. Adam Stinton, La Soufriere has continued to be quiet.
He said that seismic activity at the volcano remains low, with only a few seismic events being recorded overnight.
Dr. Stinton stated that La Soufriere has continued its pattern of low level unrest with visible steam as well as gas output.
The volcanologist took time out in his daily address to emphasize that no eruption had taken place overnight, in response to a WhatsApp message that claimed one had occurred.
“There has been no eruption, I understand there was a message on WhatsApp last night suggesting that happened. Well I can categorically say that there was no eruption last night” Dr. Adam Stinton said.
The volcanic alert level remains at orange, with all residents of the orange zone except for Chateaubelair and Fitz Hughes being given the green light to return to their homes.
