This country’s Prime Minister Dr. Hon. Ralph Gonsalves, while speaking on radio discussed the various types of support that the Government is providing to those affected by the explosive eruption of the La Soufriere volcano.
“First of all we have a program to assist with housing, that’s one. We have a program also for replacing stoves and fridges, so that’s a second one. And then we have income support, not just for farmers but also for non-farmers in the red zone and in the orange zone, and we have assistance also for individuals in the green zone and yellow zone, but clearly not to the same extent as those from the red and orange zone. We have production support also, for people who engage in agriculture, fisheries and the like.” Gonsalves said.
