Nineteen more people have lost their lives to COVID-19 in Trinidad and Tobago, with thirteen of those people suffering from comorbidities.  T&T’s Ministry of Health’s update for Sunday, January 9th, 2022, reports that these latest deaths have pushed their national toll to 3,066 lives lost.

According to the Ministry’s update, of the 19 lives reported lost: there were 11 elderly males; four were elderly females; three persons were middle-aged females, and there was one young adult male. 

According to T&T’s Health Ministry’s report the co-morbidities experienced by these persons included: diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, cancer, dementia, kidney disease, asthma, and a history of strokes.

Meanwhile, another 397 people have tested positive for the disease in Trinidad and Tobago, based on samples taken between January 3rd and 8th, which mean that there are now 16,125 active cases of COVID-19 in T&T, at this time.
