The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade, Commerce and regional Integration is inviting qualified unemployed Vincentian nationals to apply for the Foreign English Teachers’ (FET) Programme with the Ministry of Education of the Republic of China on Taiwan.

This is the second time the Ministry is participating in this programme.

Foreign Service Officer, Jinel Adams says this is in keeping with the mandate of the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines to seek out opportunities for Vincentians abroad.

In an interview with WEFM News, Ms. Adams said that under the FET Programme participants are invited to live and work in Taiwan as English Teachers for a period of one year, with the possibility of having their contract renewed.

She said that to be eligible, applicants must hold an Undergraduate, Master’s or doctoral degree, as well as a teaching certificate and a police record showing that the applicant was not involved in any criminal activity. Retired English teachers are also welcomed to apply.

Ms. Adams says that participating in this programme will allow for participants to enhance their own personal development, and expose them to the culture of Taiwan.

Ms. Adams, said application forms are available at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
