The Guild of Students of the University of the West Indies (UWI) Open Campus in St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Tuesday February 23rd, donated food items to the Catholic Soup Kitchen in Kingstown to assist the organization in providing meals to the less fortunate on a daily basis.
Head staff member at the soup kitchen, Ms. Bridgette Bowens, thanked the Guild Executive members and students of the Open Campus for their kindness in providing this much-needed donation.
Guild Chapter Chairman, Mr. Nick Francis expressed thanks to Ms. Bowens and other staff members at the soup kitchen for their service to the community and to the Guild Executive members and students for making the initiative possible.
Meanwhile, Head of the Open Campus, Mrs. Deborah Dalrymple, said she is pleased at this initiative by the Guild of Students, adding that in addition to offering opportunities for Tertiary Education, the UWI Open Campus is also charged with Outreach and Community Development at the local level.
