According to Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Ralph Gonsalves during the sitting of the house of assembly two more government ministers have tested positive for COVID-19.
“The train of circumstances, in a nutshell, can be put down to two other covid cases on the Government’s side in addition to those of Ministers Caesar and King; and the two covid cases this morning on the rapid test, I have been advised are the minister of finance Camillo Gonsalves and the honorable minister of urban development Julian Francis, again on the rapid test, which are require before you come in, given the spread of Omicron and other variants.” He said.
The positive cases have resulted in the postponement of 2022 budget debate until tomorrow January 12th.
Two other Government members (Deputy Prime Minister Montgomery Daniel and Senator Keisal Peters) are also unwell.
