Government is working to secure COVID-19 vaccines for children ages 5 to 11.

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley provided an update while speaking at a People’s National Movement (PNM) public meeting at the Success Laventille Secondary School on Saturday.

Dr Rowley told supporters that the government is “deep in negotiations.”

He said: “Only two or three days ago, I signed a CARICOM document alongside all our CARICOM colleagues, where we are seeking to get vaccines for our children ages 5 to 11.”

Students of forms one to three will return to physical classes on February 7, on a rotational basis.

Also speaking at the PNM meeting, T&T’s Education Minister Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly assured that government will do everything it can to minimise the risk for students.
