The Zonal Preliminaries of the 2019 Flow Lions Club South – St. Vincent Public Speaking Competition – kicks off at Frenches House today.
Today’s Competition will see the participation of students of Secondary Schools in Zone 1.
They are the St. Vincent Girls’ High School; The Bishops’ College Kingstown, The Dr. J.P Eustace Memorial Secondary School; The St. Clair Dacon Secondary School; The Union Island Secondary School and the St. Joseph’s Convent Kingstown.
Each student will speak on the topic ” The banning of mobile devices from workplaces is a strategy for an era long past and certainly inappropriate in this digital age”.
Following today’s competition – the zonal preliminaries will continue on Wednesday 2nd October with participants in Zone two – Thursday 3rd October – Zone three and Friday 4th October Zone four.
In a release – the Lions Club South says that over the years, students from various schools in St. Vincent and the Grenadines – have benefited immensely from participating in this prestigious competition – enabling them to showcase their creativity, talents and aid personal growth.
On Wednesday 2nd October, Schools in Zone 2 – the West St. George Secondary School; the Campden Park Secondary School; St. Vincent Grammar School; Bequia SDA Secondary School; Bequia Community High School; Intermediate High School and the Emmanuel High School Mesopotamia – will speak on the topic:
“Other than doctors and lawyers, anyone can claim a profession and practice in St. Vincent and the Grenadines without fear of sanction or reprisal”
