COVID-19 deaths in St. Vincent and the Grenadines have now risen 92 following the passing of two more patients, according to the Health Services Subcommittee’s latest report.

The first of the deceased is a 45 year old female who tested positive for COVID-19 on January 14th, 2022 and was admitted to the isolation ward at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH). She died on January 22nd of COVID-19 pneumonia.

The second of the deceased is a 61 year old female who tested positive for COVID-19 on January 16th, 2022 and was admitted to the isolation ward at the MCMH. She had underlying conditions and died on January 23rd of COVID-19 pneumonia. Both patients were unvaccinated.

12 new PCR positive cases as well as 39 rapid antigen cases were also confirmed by the report. 21 new COVID-19 recoveries were recorded, leaving active cases in country at 872.

COVID-19 admissions at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital’s COVID-19 ward currently stand at 23; 5 are vaccinated, 1 is partially vaccinated and the remaining 17 are unvaccinated.

6660 COVID-19 cases have been reported in St. Vincent and the Grenadines since March of 2020.
