St. Vincent and the Grenadines has recorded COVID-19 death number 54, according to the latest release from the Health Services Subcommittee.

The release stated that the deceased is an 82-year-old female who tested positive for COVID-19 on October 5th, 2021, died on October 17th, 2021. The patient, who was admitted to the COVID-19 ward at the Milton Memorial Hospital, had underlying conditions and was unvaccinated.

COVID-19 hospital admissions remain unchanged with a total of 38 patients still being admitted, 8 at the Argyle Isolation facility and the COVID-19 wards at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital. Two of these patients are partially vaccinated, the rest are unvaccinated.

Also confirmed in the report were 10 new COVID-19 positive cases as well as 50 COVID-19 recoveries; active cases of the virus now stand at 1,643.

Since March of last St. Vincent and the Grenadines has reported 2,940 COVID-19 recoveries and 4,637 COVID-19 positive cases.
