Schools in St. Vincent and the Grenadines are still set to reopen on October 4th 2021, according to this country’s Minister of Education, the Hon. Curtis King who made the statement while speaking on Star FM last week. However the education minister noted that the format for the reopening for schools is still not set in stone.

“Schools are scheduled to open on the fourth of October and we in the Ministry of Education are working towards that date. What we cannot tell you is the format in which the schools will be reopened, because today in this COVID-19 pandemic period, where online teaching has become part of the daily discourse, when we talk about the reopening of school or the opening of school, we have to make the distinction that school can be opened in several formats.” He said.

King said that school could be opened in several ways including, a blended format (part online, part face to face), face to face only, and online only.
