Courts St. Vincent Limited is hosting its 2017 Reading Competition.

Fifty-two Primary Schools have confirmed participation in the competition, which is being hosted for the ninth year.

The preliminaries of the competition got underway today September 18, 2017, with the finals slated for Friday September 29, 2017.

Lisa Veira – Commercial Officer at Courts SVG Limited told WEFM News that the overall objective of the reading Competition is to encourage children to read and to understand the importance of reading, which is vital to their success in school, and all other aspects of life.

Ms. Veira said the winner from St. Vincent and the Grenadines will receive several prizes as well as the opportunity to Read the News on television, and represent this country at the Finals of the OECS Courts Reading Competition in St. Lucia.

Last year’s winner was Kaylee Robertson of Stubbs Government School who went on to place 2nd in the OECS finals of the Courts Reading Competition.
