Police here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines have launched investigations into multiple shootings that took place over the weekend on the island, resulting in the killings of two men.

A release from the Public Relations and Complaints department of the police force states that preliminary information indicates that on Saturday, December 02, 2023, about 7:20 a.m., Deejay Howard, a 29-year-old labourer of Edinboro, and Allando Guy, a 35-year-old labourer of the same address were attacked by an assailant and shot about their bodies. The victims were transported to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital for medical treatment. Guy later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead about 11:11 a.m. by a medical doctor. Howard is in stable condition at the MCMH.

About 10:50 a.m. later the said day, Jovica Gaymes, a 28-year-old labourer of Layou was walking through the old Cemetery in Cashville, Layou when he was accosted by an assailant and shot multiple about his body. Gaymes was transported to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCHM). He was treated and is reported to be in stable condition.

The fourth (4) shooting occurred on Sunday December 03, 2023, about 7:25 a.m. in Belmont. The victim is Demron Delpesche, a 31-year-old labourer of Belmont. At the time of the shooting, Delpesche was walking along the Belmont Public Road when he was attacked by an armed assailant(s). Delpesche was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical doctor.
