The Forestry Services of the Ministry of Agriculture is better equipped to perform its functions as custodian and protector of this country’s watersheds and forest resources.

This is because of the handing over of a consignment of tools and equipment Tuesday November 28, 2023, at the Headquarters of the Forestry Services of the Ministry of Agriculture in Campden Park.

According to an official release from the Ministry of Agriculture, the delivery was procured under the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Ridge to Reef and Integrated Water, land and Ecosystems management in Caribbean Small Island Developing States (IWEco) twin project.

This project assembled of a number of state agencies including the Forestry Services and the Fisheries Division of the Ministry of Agriculture, National Parks Rivers and Beaches Authority, Central Water and Sewerage Authority and the Ministry of Sustainable Development.

Director of Forestry Fitzgerald Providence urged the audience to recognize the role of the environment in sustaining our lands, lives and livelihoods. He expressed gratitude for the equipment and the continued assistance of all the agencies involved.
