The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 48 year old resident of Owia, Tyrone Lavia.

According to Police investigations, on Tuesday August 10th, 2021, at about 12:05 PM, The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Coast Guard Service received a report of a lifeless body in the waters off the vicinity of Baleine and Copper Hole. Coast Guard Personnel then responded to the report and retrieved the body of the deceased with the assistance of area’s fishermen.

The body was taken to the SVG Coast Guard base in Calliaqua, where it was later identified to be 48 year old Tyrone Lavia of Owia.

The cause of Lavia’s death is not yet known. A post mortem examination will be conducted to ascertain the exact cause of death.
