Prime Minister Dr. The Hon. Ralph Gonsalves while speaking on radio earlier this week expressed his disappointment at the limited uptake of the COVID-19 vaccine in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
“I am disappointed that the uptake on the vaccine is so limited. 193 countries which belong to the United Nations, 193 countries in the world; 193 of them agree that the vaccine is the vital tool in the toolbox to stem the transmission of COVID-19, to reduce serious illness, and death, and to bring us back to normalcy.” He said.
Prime Minister Gonsalves said that persons should pay close attention to the science as it pertains to the vaccines.
According to the most recent information from the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment, a total of 20,324 persons have been vaccinated against COVID-19, over 16,000 of which have been fully vaccinated.
