The New Democratic Party (NDP) has called the latest measures put in place by the Government to safeguard the country against the spread of COVID-19 a step in the right direction. This came via a press release from the party which was issued on Tuesday February 9th.
“The recent announcement by the Ministry of Health to admit the reality of community spread and to make wearing of masks in public places mandatory and restrict the numbers of persons in public transport vehicles, rum shops and restaurants shows a reversal of the government’s position. Though late, the announcement is a step in the right direction as the measures, if properly enforced, can reduce the spread of the disease.” The release said.
As of the most recent release from National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO), there are currently 6 COVID-19 related deaths, a total of 1,340, 880 of which are active. 454 individuals have made full recoveries from the virus.
