A nine-year-old boy, in Guyana, was among three persons who were attacked by a swarm of bees on Thursday evening.

According to police reports, the swarm of bees emerged from an open house lot opposite the Rose Hall Town Primary School on the public road and attacked several passersby.

The victims were rushed to Guyana’s Port Mourant Public Hospital to get medical attention and were all admitted for observation.

Their conditions have been listed as serious but stable.

The two adult victims were treated and sent away but the nine-year-old boy was referred to Guyana’s New Amsterdam Hospital for further treatment.

Last year three persons lost their lives in Guyana after they were attacked by bees in three separate incidents in East Berbice, Corentyne.
