This country’s Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. Saboto Caesar, during a recent radio appearance, while discussing modernization of SVG’s livestock sector, explained the reorganization taking place within his ministry to achieve that goal.
“Right now, the ministry of agriculture, we are reorganizing and refashioning how we utilize the administrative human resource capacity and also the technical human resource capacity within the ministry, because we have to bolster the role of the bureau of standards, and we are having conversations with many technicians in the ministry, because we cannot advance the quest to have a modern livestock sector without having people who understand and appreciate livestock standards within the bureau of standards and we have to move some persons to the bureau of standards.” Caesar said.
The persons being moved to the bureau of standards, according to the agriculture minister, could consist of persons fresh out of university returning home from overseas, persons who may be available within the region, individuals who are already here in country who meet the bureau of standards requirements for employment.
