Minister of Tourism, the Hon. Carlos James, yesterday detailed the procedures that fully vaccinated taxi operators, as well as disembarking passengers will have to go through while within the cruise bubble.

“Take for instance a taxi now who is part of the bubble who is considered a safe zone operator, they will be given two series of stamps to be displayed on their taxis, one which a tourism approved stamp which is the usual stamp in terms of going to the tourism authority, sorting out the arrangement with your licensing and so on and to become a tourism approved taxi operator; but also in terms of a health safe operator. We’ll have this identifiable mark on the taxis and of course the operators are expected to also have with them their vaccination cards as they embark onto the cruise terminal.” He said

Minister James then went on to discuss the procedure as it pertained to cruise ship passengers disembarking.

“Passengers who are disembarking will then, very more than likely, have to go through a series of checks and balances when they get to our destination, but also will be assigned to the tour operators or the taxi operators or the tour guides, who will be responsible for them during that day while they’re in the bubble.” He said

He assured that all the regular COVID-19 protocols will also be in place.
