This country’s Minister of Agriculture the Hon. Saboto Caesar, while appearing as a guest on the Shake Up program aired on WEFM, expressed his delight at the fact that quest to reduce the country’s food import bill is being taken seriously.

“What we are working towards is the reduction of our food import bill by producing more food locally. Yes I know that many of our traders are targeting the external market, but there is a growing cadre if traders internally.” He said.

The Minister goes on to express his delight at this increasing number of internal traders.

“It’s really nice to know that we are taking the quest to reduce our food import bill seriously and that we recognize that there is a need for the internal commercialization of the trade.” Minister Caesar said.

He applauded the entrepreneurs in the agricultural space that have secured contracts with local entities such as supermarkets and persons in the hospitality industry.
