Local Investigating officers will be able to capture real time data on reported incidents.

This is made possible as the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, today, officially launched the CariSecure Police Records Management Information System, a system, which will transition Police paper based reporting records, to a digital format.

During a ceremony held this morning at the Questelles Police station,
Commissioner of Police Colin John, said the project which was launched in 2016, will assist police officers to effectively and efficiently deal with Crime.

Resident Representative and Head of United Nations Development Program in Barbados and the OECS, Mr. Magdy Martinez-Soliman said with the Management Information System, Crime fighting will become more beneficial, while Ambassador Linda Taglialatela, US Ambassador to Barbados, the United States Ambassador to Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean and the OECS, said the Digital Information System will give Police Officers 21st century tools, to deal with 21st century Crime.

The project is funded and supported by the United States Agency for International Development and implemented by the UNDP, Barbados and the OECS.

Carisecure aims to strenghten the capacity of regional and national institutions in 10 Caribbean Countries, including St. Vincent and the Grenadines, to collect, analyze and use citizen security data for evidence-driven crime prevention.
