Supporters of Brasil’s far-right former president Jair Bolsonaro stormed government buildings, prompting security forces to detain 1,500 people.

The BBC said yesterday (January 9) hundreds of protestors rummage through the Congress building, the presidential palace, as well as the Supreme Court.

Camps that were set up were ordered to be dismantled by a supreme court judge.

 In October – Bolsonaro lost the presidential election after spreading unproven assertions about voting systems. His supporters refused to accept the recent election results.

The demonstrations have been condemned by many World leader.
