The commissioner of police Mr. Colin John in a statement released earlier today said that Easter Weekend 2020 in SVG has been the most peaceful one in years.
He went on to thank the Vincentian public for their commendable behavior over the Easter Weekend, saying that public generally adhered to the COVID-19 advisories and policies that have been sent out.
The commissioner of police in the statement also gave statistics showing that the amount of reported crimes during this time had decreased from 54 and 44 in 2018 and 2019 respectively to 30 in 2020. The statistics also showed that there has been a reduction in motor vehicular accidents this Easter as well.
The Commissioner of Police thanked the public for its invaluable support and goodwill, saying “together, we can make St. Vincent and the Grenadines a safer and more peaceful country”.
