Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has said that the Cruise lines have an international responsibility to assist sailors in their return to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Speaking on Shake Up today, Dr. Gonsalves said the Government has a settled view as to the legal obligations of cruise lines under international law and he vows that the Government will do all in its power to protect nationals of this country.
He said his administration will defend the rights of Nationals.
The PM further stated that any foreign body seeking to quote “dump” any national on these shores, will be taken to the United Nations Security Council.
In a facebook post, the main opposition New Democratic Party said in parliament, it supported measures to bring Vincentians home and is calling on the Government to demonstrate that and help those in need.
