Vice President of Worldwide Port Operations of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd, Hernan Zini, has announced that the Company is hoping to have Vincentian sailors repatriated within a few weeks.

The announcement was made by Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, while speaking on “Shake Up” aired on We FM on Tuesday, comes as the Government begins to ramp up efforts to have all sailors returned home.

Reading from an email sent to Bishen John, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the SVG Port Authority, from Royal Caribbean, Dr. Ralph Gonsavles quoted Mr. Zini as saying that the Company is hoping to do the repatriation by ship.

Dr. Gonsalves outlined a number of protocols that are expected when the sailors disembark at the Kingstown Cruise Terminal.

Monday in an audio message to the families of crew members, onboard various vessels the Prime Minister said his administration is putting in place the essential measures, to have sailors returned to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

He also noted that citizenship counts for something, hence his administration will do all it takes to have the sailors returned.
