The COVID-19 death toll in St. Vincent and the Grenadines has now risen to 94 following the passing of an unvaccinated individual from the virus.

According to the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 update a 74-year-old male tested positive for COVID-19 on January 22nd, 2022, he was admitted to the isolation ward at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital. He died on the 30th of January, 2022 of COVID-19 pneumonia.

Of the 94 deaths reported in country, 2 were fully vaccinated, 1 was partially vaccinated and 91 were unvaccinated.

7 new PCR positive cases, 3 new rapid antigen cases as well as 3 new COVID-19 recoveries were also confirmed by the health ministry’s COVID-19 update. Active cases of the virus in SVG now stand at 822.

There are currently 17 COVID-19 patients hospitalized at Milton Cato Memorial Hospital’s COVID-19 ward; 4 being fully vaccinated, 2 being partially vaccinated and 11 being unvaccinated.

Since March of 2020 there have been 6685 PCR COVID-19 positive cases reported in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
