The student population at two of the Medical Universities based here is set to grow with the pending arrival of close to 500 medical students from Dominica and Anguilla.

The medical students will be accommodated here to continue their studies in medicine following the devastation wrought on the islands by Hurricanes Irma and Maria, earlier this month.

Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said 400 medical students from the All Saints University in Dominica will be accommodated at the All Saints University here, while about 70 persons, inclusive of students and professors, from St. James School of Medicine in Anguilla will be accommodated at the medical school campus here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Dr. Gonsalves said he is not sure how long the students will be in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, since this will depend on the hurricane recovery efforts in the affected islands.
