Barbados Cabinet has approved the Give Back Programme for students of the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus to repay with service their taxpayer-funded tuition, Minister of Home Affairs Edmund Hinkson has announced.
According to the Barbados Today News, under the programme, UWI students will be required to complete 150 hours of community service over the three to four years that they are at university, and give back to Barbados.
Hinkson said Government believed that it was important for university students to give back to their society through volunteerism in this country.
