Head of the La Soufriere Monitoring team, Professor Richard Robertson, during his usual appearance on NBC Radio’s Eying La Soufriere program, provided an update on the declining activity of the volcano.

“Activity at La Soufriere continues to remain low since the explosions and the trembling that we had in April. The last couple days we’ve had a few earthquakes, we tend to have a few earthquakes recorded from time to time. The activity continues to be symptomatic of something that is in decline” he said.

Professor Robertson noted that sulphur dioxide fluxes have continued to drop, saying that this has been happening for some time now since May, and that is expected that it will get to the stage where it is undetectable.
