Fifteen new laboratory confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, according to the Health Services Subcommittee’s latest COVID-19 report. These new cases were reported from 90 samples processed on Sunday September 19th, resulting in a positivity rate of 16.7%.

Also confirmed the Health Services Subcommittee’s report was two more COVID-19 deaths.

An 88-year-old female and a 51-year-old male both died on September 20th, 2021, from COVID-19 Pneumonia. The patients tested positive for COVID-19 on September 14th and 17th, 2021 respectively. Both deceased persons were unvaccinated.

Their deaths bring the death toll from COVID-19 to 16.

There are currently nineteen patients admitted for COVID-19 at the Argyle Isolation Facility. Eighteen of which are unvaccinated and one patient is partially vaccinated.

Active cases of COVID-19 in SVG currently stand at 488.

2,845 laboratory confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in country since March of last year.

A total of 13,026 people have received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
