Representatives from fourteen countries across the region are into the third day of a five day workshop being hosted by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Commerce and Intellectual Property Office (CIPO), of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The workshop commenced on Monday April 4, at the Sunset Shores Beach Hotel conference room and ends on Friday, April 8.

Senior Executive Officer for CIPO SVG, Ms. Annette Francois, said the training is geared towards strengthening the efficiency of the information technology personnel throughout the region as it relates to the Intellectual Property Automation Systems (IPAS).

Meanwhile, Head of the Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean in the WIPO, Mrs. Carol Simpson, said the workshop presents an opportunity to learn about the issues from regional participants and urged participants to make an effort to share their information, at the completion of their training.

The sessions will review status reports from representatives from each intellectual property office.
