St. Vincent Electricity Services Limited (VINLEC) will be extending a discount of ten percent on customers’ electricity bills for the months of June, July and August. This is according to Mrs. Tamara Sprott, Communications Officer at VINLEC.
“We will extend the discount of 10 percent on all electricity bills for the months June, July and August.” Mrs. Sprott said.
She said that this discount is intended to lend support to their customers in the COVID-19, post volcanic eruption environment.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines has been battling with the COVID-19 virus since March of 2020, when the first case of the virus was confirmed. Over 2,000 laboratory confirmed cases have been recorded since then.
Alongside the COVID-19 pandemic, SVG was also faced with the explosive eruption of the La Soufriere volcano on April 9th.
