The St. Vincent Electricity Services VINLEC which commemorated its Environmental Health and Safety Awareness month in May and saw a success at it will continue its promotion of internal and external safety.
VINLEC, which is a sponsor of many carnival events is continuing its safety promotion as the carnival season is in its high stages.
Tamara Job-Sprott, Communications Officer at VINLEC in an interview with WEFM News encouraged persons to take precautionary measures when it comes to personal security as it relates to VINLEC.
In relation to VINLEC’s transmissions and distribution system, she is encouraging persons to refrain from trying to move overhanging wires and entering sub stations.
The Communication Officer is urging persons in rural communities to be aware of stray wires and not to get into direct contact with poles as they celebrate carnival.
