Health Promotions Officer within the Ministry of Health, Ms. Shanika John, during a recent radio interview encouraged Vincentians to apply to for their vaccine certificates, while also discussing the benefits of the certificate.

“The vaccine certificate is still going, we used the vaccine certificate particularly over the weekend when we had a lot of the vaccinated events, and so that really allows us with tracking for us to have documentation, and it’s a much easier process.

The likelihood of persons being able to manipulate the vaccine certificate is much lower in terms of having the actual card. So we’re still encouraging persons to apply for their vaccine certificates and the vaccine certificate is where you have the QR code; because I realise some persons are saying “well I have my QR code”—the entire document is called the vaccine certificate, and in that document you have your QR code which is what you would scan and have your information as well”. She said.

According to latest COVID-19 dashboard released by the Ministry of Health, a total of 61,889 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in SVG. 33,620 being first doses and 26,668 being second doses.
