Chief Medical Officer Dr. Simone Keizer Beache, during the Ministry of Health’s weekly COVID-19 update press conference, disclosed that two more COVID-19 related deaths had been reported.

The first of the deceased is a 60 year old female from Sandy Bay who passed away at her home on February 8th. According to the CMO, the female was known to be COVID positive, complained of abdominal pain and died.

Dr. Keizer Beache said that confirmation that this death should be ruled as a COVID death was just received this week.

The second death occurred today February 25th 2021. The deceased is a 43 year old male who was admitted to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH) on February 10th with symptoms in keeping with COVID-19 and was confirmed to be COVID-19 positive after admission.

He had a history of hypertension, became progressively ill, and was placed on a ventilator earlier this week. He passed away at 9:40 AM this morning.

COVID-19 related deaths in St. Vincent and the Grenadines now stand at 8, following the report of these deaths.
