According to the latest COVID-19 report released by NEMO’s Health Services Subcommittee, two more COVID-19 deaths have been reported here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The first of the deceased is a 71-year-old male, who died at home after a respiratory illness and tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday December 21st, 2021 as part of the post-mortem assessment. This patient was determined to have died from COVID pneumonia.

The second of the deceased is a 26-year-old male with underlying conditions, who tested positive for COVID-19 on December 14th, 2021, was admitted to the isolation ward at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital and died on the December 22nd, 2021 of COVID-19 pneumonia.

Both patients were unvaccinated. Their deaths bring the death toll from COVID-19 to 81.

18 new COVID-19 positive cases as well as 14 new recoveries were also confirmed by the report, leaving active cases of COVID-19 in St. Vincent and the Grenadines at 596.
