St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Thursday July 31st, 2020 confirmed two (2) new COVID-19 cases.

Both cases arrived on American Airlines (AA) 945 flight on Saturday July 25th, 2020 and have been isolated since the receipt of their preliminary positive results. Both are doing well and have no symptoms typical of coronavirus.

All of the other ninety-three (93) AA 945 passengers who arrived from Miami on Saturday July 25, 2020, have been released from mandatory hotel quarantine, having tested negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus on day five (5) of quarantine. They will continue in home self-quarantine for nine (9) more days, unless otherwise advised.

The Vincentian who arrived on AA 945 on July 18, and had a preliminary positive on day five of quarantine, was determined not to be an active case of COVID-19. That person has been released from isolation.

The Air Canada 980 Vincentian passenger who arrived on July 23, 2020, and was classified as a preliminary positive, remains under investigation.

Five (5) COVID-19 cases recovered as indicated by two negative results of RT-PCR tests.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines has now recorded a total of fifty-four (54) COVID-19 cases, of which forty-four (44) have recovered. There are now ten (10) active COVID-19 cases.  

The public is urged to work with the health and security services to keep St. Vincent and the Grenadines healthy. This can be achieved, once everyone adheres to all quarantine and isolation orders.
